Location: Newport, South Wales

Teaching Personnel is recruiting a confident and motivated Unqualified Teacher to work in one of our partnership secondary schools in Newport. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, cover supervisors, or experienced educators without formal teaching qualifications who want to step into a classroom teaching role.


About the Unqualified Teacher Role

As an Unqualified Teacher, you will:

  • Deliver pre-prepared lessons across KS3 and KS4 in the absence of the class teacher

  • Lead and manage a classroom independently

  • Maintain behaviour in line with school policies

  • Support students’ academic progress and engagement

  • Act as a positive role model within the school environment

You will not be required to plan lessons or mark work — allowing you to focus purely on developing your classroom confidence and teaching skills.

 

This role is ideal for:

  • Graduates considering a PGCE or teacher training

  • Experienced Cover Supervisors ready for the next step

  • Individuals with strong behaviour management skills
