Looking to gain valuable classroom experience before pursuing a career in teaching? Do you have experience working with young people and the confidence to lead a classroom?

Teaching Personnel is seeking motivated and reliable individuals to work as Cover Supervisors in secondary schools across Bath from now until September. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, sports coaches, youth workers, tutors, or those considering a future in education.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will oversee lessons in the absence of the classroom teacher, ensuring students remain engaged with the work that has been set and maintaining a positive learning environment.

The Role

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects
  • Manage classroom behaviour and ensure students remain on task
  • Support students with their learning where appropriate
  • Build positive relationships with pupils and school staff
  • Gain experience working within a variety of secondary school settings
  • Follow school policies and procedures

The Ideal Candidate

  • Confident communicating with young people aged 11–16
  • Comfortable leading a classroom and managing behaviour
  • Flexible, adaptable, and professional
  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable
  • Passionate about making a positive difference in education
  • No teaching qualification required
