Tutor required Mondays and Fridays in S80 postcode.

Teaching Personnel are looking for a tutor in Worksop (S80) to work with a Year 10 LAC student, who is living in a children's residential home. The student does not currently have a school place and has not been in education for about 3 years, plus is a school refuser, therefore requires 1:1 tuition on a temporary basis in the home. She has a tutor through us currently but the relationship has broken down so we are looking to give the pupil a fresh start after the Easter holidays with a new tutor.

We are looking for someone to work Monday and Friday for 4 hours per day. Session times are flexible but the current tutor works 9 - 1pm. This role must be in person, and therefore cannot be online. You will be responsible for planning your own resources.

A tutor will be required while a school place is found, so we will require ongoing commitment to ensure the student has consistency.

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Resilient and able to deal with physical and verbal aggression/challenging behaviour confidently where appropriate
  • Ideally a fully qualified teacher with QTS, or an experienced Tutor
  • Extremely nurturing and able to offer pastoral and academic support
  • Experienced at delivering 1:1 or small group tutoring for vulnerable pupils
  • Knowledgeable and experienced working with LAC students
  • Dedicated to going the extra mile for this student and committed to supporting with his education
  • Able to produce detailed feedback forms on a weekly basis to monitor the progress and behaviour of this student
  • Have taught or tutored KS4 pupils before
