Job description

We’re looking for committed, in-person tutors in Southend to support Key Stage 3 pupils across Maths, English, and Science. Our students come with a wide range of needs from those lacking confidence to those with SEN so your ability to adapt, connect, and build trust is just as important as your subject knowledge.

This isn’t just tutoring. It’s impact.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Delivering personalised, face-to-face sessions that meet pupils where they are
  • Supporting learners with varying abilities, including those with SEN
  • Building genuine rapport that helps students feel comfortable, motivated, and understood
  • Keeping clear records of attendance, lesson objectives, and progress summaries after each session

What you’ll need:

  • At least 2 years of teaching or tutoring experience
  • Strong subject knowledge in Maths, English, or Science (ideally more than one)
  • Confidence working with mixed abilities and additional needs
  • Reliability, consistency, and a calm, adaptable approach
  • Availability of 10–15 hours per week minimum

Why join us?
We value tutors who go beyond worksheets those who can connect, inspire, and make learning feel achievable again. You’ll be part of a team that prioritises meaningful progress over box-ticking.

If you’re the kind of tutor students remember years later, we want to hear from you.
