1:1 Tutor – Peterborough

Flexible / Part-time opportunities available

Location: Peterborough, Cambridgeshire
Setting: Pupil’s home or school
Hours: School hours, Monday–Friday

About the Role

TP Tutors is looking for passionate and experienced 1:1 Tutors to support pupils in the Peterborough area.

You will provide personalised, one-to-one educational support either in the pupil’s home or within a school setting during school hours. This is a rewarding opportunity for a dedicated tutor who wants to make a meaningful difference to a young person’s education, confidence and future outcomes.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Deliver engaging and personalised 1:1 tuition tailored to the pupil’s individual needs.
  • Plan and deliver lessons in line with the UK curriculum.
  • Adapt teaching approaches to suit the pupil’s ability, learning style and educational needs.
  • Support pupils to develop academic skills, confidence and engagement with learning.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress and provide feedback when required.
  • Build positive and professional relationships with pupils, parents/carers and school staff.
  • Create a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with relevant education professionals where required.
  • Follow all safeguarding and child-protection procedures.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for tutors who:

  • Have a minimum of 2 years’ teaching or tutoring experience within the UK curriculum.
  • Have experience working with children or young people, ideally in a 1:1 setting.
  • Are passionate, patient, reliable and enthusiastic about education.
  • Can adapt their teaching style to meet individual pupil needs.
  • Are confident working independently in a pupil’s home or school setting.
  • Are available to work during school hours.
  • Have excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Are committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience teaching or tutoring the UK curriculum.
  • Relevant teaching, tutoring or educational experience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Enhanced DBS suitable for working with children, or willingness to obtain one.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Successful completion of references and safeguarding/compliance checks.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
