1:1 Tutor (In-Home / School Setting) – Northampton Area
Location: Northampton and surrounding areas
Hours: School hours (flexible within 8:30am–3:30pm)
Type: Part-time / Contract
Pay: Competitive (dependent on experience and qualifications)
About the Role
We are looking for a committed and compassionate 1:1 Tutor to support pupils in either their home or a school setting during school hours across the Northampton area.
This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with pupils who need additional support, providing personalised learning that helps them build confidence, re-engage with education, and reach their potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver personalised 1:1 tutoring sessions based on individual learning needs
- Support core subjects such as English, Maths, and other curriculum areas where required
- Create a positive and engaging learning environment
- Adapt teaching approaches to suit different abilities and needs (including SEN where appropriate)
- Monitor and report on pupil progress
- Work collaboratively with parents, schools, and other professionals
Requirements
- Teaching qualification (QTS) or a minimum of 2 years’ teaching experience delivering the UK curriculum
- Experience working with children or young people (education, tutoring, mentoring, or support roles)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexible and adaptable teaching style
- Patient, empathetic, and reliable
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Desirable
- Experience working with Special Educational Needs (SEN) pupils
- Background in education, youth work, or pastoral support

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
