Job description

Tutor – Maths & English Support (Matlock, DE4)

TP Tutors is expanding across Derbyshire, and we’re looking for a committed Maths and English Tutor to work with learners in Matlock (DE4) who need a supportive, personalised approach to learning.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working one-to-one, helping students rebuild confidence, fill gaps in understanding, and get back on track with their core subjects. Many of the young people we support benefit from a calm, structured environment and a tutor who can adapt sessions to their individual needs.

The work is in-person, during school hours, and usually takes place in the pupil’s home or a nearby community location.

What the role involves

  • Delivering tailored Maths and English sessions

  • Creating engaging, accessible learning materials

  • Encouraging progress through patience, positivity, and clear guidance

  • Working closely with our team to report on attendance and progress

What you’ll need

  • Experience teaching/tutoring Maths and/or English

  • A caring, consistent approach to supporting learners

  • An Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
