1:1 Tutor – Home & School-Based (School Hours)

Location: Ipswich and surrounding areas
Hours: Monday–Friday, school hours (term time only)
Contract: Flexible – Part-time / Full-time opportunities available
Pay: Competitive hourly rate (dependent on experience and qualifications)

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Qualified Teacher (QTS) to work as a 1:1 Tutor supporting children and young people across Ipswich and the surrounding areas. Tuition will take place in pupils' homes or school settings during school hours.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated teacher who enjoys providing personalised learning support and helping pupils overcome barriers to education, improve confidence, and achieve positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality 1:1 tuition tailored to each pupil’s individual needs and learning goals.
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that support academic progress and curriculum requirements.
  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet individual learning styles and abilities.
  • Build positive and professional relationships with pupils, parents/carers, and schools.
  • Monitor, assess, and record pupil progress regularly.
  • Provide feedback and maintain accurate session records.
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and maintain excellent professional standards at all times.

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • Experience delivering personalised 1:1 tuition is desirable.
  • Strong classroom management, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to plan and deliver differentiated lessons effectively.
  • Experience supporting pupils with additional learning needs is advantageous.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is preferred due to travel between pupil locations.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
