1:1 Tutor – Primary, Secondary, GCSE & SEND, Coventry
Location: Coventry and surrounding areas
Hours: Flexible, Part-time (Monday to Friday, school hours)
Pay Rate: Competitive (dependent on assignment and Local Authority)
About the Role
TP Tutors is looking for committed and experienced Primary, Secondary, GCSE & SEND 1:1 Tutors to provide personalised tuition to children and young people across Coventry and surrounding areas.
This role is ideal for education professionals who enjoy working on an individual basis with pupils who may be out of mainstream education, require academic catch-up, or have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver tailored and engaging lessons across Primary, Secondary and GCSE subjects in line with the UK National Curriculum.
- Plan, deliver, and adapt individual learning programmes based on each pupil's educational needs and learning style.
- Provide effective support to pupils with SEND, SEMH needs, EHCPs, and those requiring specialist academic intervention.
- Use differentiated and creative teaching strategies to increase engagement, confidence, independence, and motivation.
- Monitor progress and maintain detailed and accurate records following every tuition session.
- Liaise professionally with schools, Local Authorities, parents/carers, and other professionals to achieve positive outcomes.
- Develop a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment tailored to the individual learner.
Essential Requirements
Qualifications: QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification is preferred but not essential.
Experience: A minimum of two years' UK teaching or tutoring experience delivering the UK National Curriculum is essential. Experience working with Primary, Secondary, GCSE, SEND, or intervention pupils is highly desirable.
Skills: Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, confident behaviour management, patience, flexibility, and the ability to motivate young people with varying educational needs.
Compliance: Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one, and the legal right to work in the UK.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
