Job description

Job Title: 1:1 Tutor (Home or School-Based)
Location: Coventry and surrounding areas
Hours: Flexible, during school hours (typically between 8:30am–3:30pm)
Pay: Competitive rates (dependent on experience and qualifications)

About the Role:
We are looking for passionate and reliable 1:1 Tutors to support pupils in the Coventry area. This role involves delivering personalised education in either a home or school setting, supporting young people who may require additional help outside of mainstream education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, individualised lessons tailored to each pupil’s needs
  • Support students with a range of needs, including SEN, SEMH, or those currently out of mainstream education
  • Adapt teaching methods to suit different learning styles and abilities
  • Build strong, positive relationships to encourage confidence and engagement
  • Track, assess, and report on pupil progress
  • Liaise with parents, schools, and other professionals as required

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people (teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or support roles)
  • Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection
  • Ability to deliver flexible and creative lessons
  • Patient, resilient, and nurturing approach
  • Relevant qualifications (teaching, tutoring, or degree-level education preferred but not essential)
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
