Job description

Job Title: 1:1 Tutor (Home & School Settings)
Location: Cambridge and surrounding areas
Hours: School hours (Monday–Friday)

About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated and adaptable 1:1 Tutor to support pupils across Cambridge in both home and school settings. You will work with students who may require additional academic support or need help re-engaging with education, making a meaningful difference to their learning journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver personalised one-to-one tuition sessions
  • Support pupils with a range of abilities, including those with SEN or additional needs
  • Plan and adapt lessons to suit individual learning styles
  • Monitor progress and provide regular feedback
  • Build positive, supportive relationships to encourage engagement and confidence

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people (teaching, tutoring, or support roles)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to tailor teaching approaches to individual needs
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Right to work in the UK

Desirable:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant qualification
  • Experience working with SEN, SEMH, or alternative provision
  • Ability to teach core subjects such as English, Maths, or Science

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
