As a successful applicant, you will work as a Cover Supervisor in a secondary school in Dorchester. In this role, you will supervise classes during short-term teacher absences, ensuring students remain on task with pre-set work. While this position does not involve lesson planning, marking, or teaching, it offers invaluable insight into classroom practice and school life—perfect for aspiring teachers.
Start Date: September 2026

During Your Placement, You Will:
- Maintain a reflective journal of your experiences
- Observe a variety of lessons to broaden your teaching knowledge
- Learn effective behaviour management and differentiation strategies
- Support pastoral care and student development
- Develop an understanding of school policies and procedures
- Explore the curriculum within your subject area
- Assist students with coursework and exam preparation

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
