SEN Teaching Assistant – KS1

Start Date: After Easter 
Contract: Full Time, Until July 
Location: Todmorden

Pay:From £14.30 per hour

Teaching Personnel are working closely with a welcoming and supportive Primary School in the Todmor area who are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their KS1 hub after Easter. 

This is a fulltime role running Monday to Friday and will continue through to the end of the academic year, with the possibility of continuation for the right person. 

About the Role 

The successful candidate will be supporting children in Key Stage 1 who have a range of additional needs, ensuring they can access learning in a safe, nurturing, and structured environment. You will be working alongside experienced staff and SEN professionals within a wellresourced hub designed to meet the needs of pupils who require extra support. 

Your role will include: 

  • Providing 1:1 and smallgroup support for pupils with SEND 

  • Supporting children with communication, social, emotional, or behavioural needs 

  • Helping to implement personalised learning plans 

  • Working collaboratively with the SENCo and teaching staff 

  • Creating a positive, encouraging learning environment for every child 

ShapeThe Ideal Candidate Will: 

  • Have experience supporting children with SEN (school-based experience preferred) 

  • Be patient, resilient, and committed to helping children thrive 

  • Be able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff 

  • Show initiative and flexibility in a dynamic environment 

  • Hold (or be willing to obtain) an enhanced DBS on the update service

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
