Teacher of Textiles

Secondary School – Preston
Start Date: 23rd February 2026

We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Teacher of Textiles to join our successful Design & Technology department at a secondary school in Preston, starting 23rd February 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate practitioner who is committed to delivering engaging, high‑quality lessons and inspiring pupils to develop practical skills, creativity, and confidence within Textiles.

The Role

  • Teaching Textiles across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 experience desirable but not essential)
  • Planning and delivering engaging, well‑structured lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Assessing, tracking, and reporting on pupil progress
  • Contributing positively to the wider Design & Technology department
  • Maintaining a safe, well‑organised, and inspiring classroom environment

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold QTS (or be working towards it)
  • Have experience teaching Textiles in a UK secondary school setting
  • Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and a passion for Design & Technology
  • Be committed to high standards of teaching, learning, and behaviour
  • Be enthusiastic, adaptable, and a strong team player

Contract: Temporary
Salary: MPS/UPS (dependent on experience)
