Teaching Assistants (SEN)


Full Time (Monday – Friday 8.30am – 15.30pm)

Teaching Personnel are supporting the recruitment of a Special Educational Needs School in Slough. They are currently looking to appoint numerous new support staff to work in the Early Years/Primary department.

The role of a Teaching Assistant is to support the learning needs of pupils who have been identified as having learning difficulties/disabilities. Teaching Assistants will support to remote barriers to accessing learning in class and out of class. The support provided will encourage pupils to be independent and participate in the wider class learning and activities.

The school are looking for Teaching Assistants who can work to support the following needs:

Autism (verbal/non-verbal)

Social Emotional Mental Health Needs


Speech Language Communication Needs


  • Experience working with special educational needs – children or adults
  • Relevant qualification (Level 1 -3 TA) (Supporting teaching and learning in school) (degree in education, teaching or psychology)
  • Committed to working full time and taking on additional training provided by the school
  • Strong, resilient and patient personality
  • Relevant SEN training course (Autism Awareness, PEC’s, Makaton, Team Teach, MAPPA, Moving and Manual Handling)
  • Committed to safeguarding pupils

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
