Teaching Assistant – Doncaster Schools

Location: Doncaster
Salary: Competitive daily rate

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting pupils with their learning, development and wellbeing. You may work across different year groups and settings, providing classroom support and helping pupils to reach their full potential.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting teachers with the delivery of engaging lessons
  • Working with individuals and small groups of pupils
  • Providing additional support to pupils who require extra assistance
  • Helping to manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment
  • Supporting pupils with their academic, social and emotional development
  • Assisting with classroom preparation and learning resources
  • Building positive and professional relationships with pupils and staff
  • Following school policies, safeguarding procedures and individual support plans

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people
  • Experience working within a school or educational setting is desirable
  • A patient, caring and supportive approach
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils
  • Confidence supporting pupils with different abilities and needs
  • Good behaviour management skills
  • A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification such as Level 2 or Level 3 is desirable
  • A genuine passion for helping children learn and develop

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
