Teaching Assistant (SEN)

Location: WR6, Worcestershire
Salary: £17,000–£20,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Contract: Part Time | Term Time Only
Start Date: Immediate / September Start

We are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in the WR6 area for a dedicated Teaching Assistant (SEN) to join their supportive team.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them to achieve their full potential both academically and personally. Working closely with teachers and the SEND team, you will provide classroom support, deliver targeted interventions, and promote confidence, independence, and positive engagement with learning.

The Role

  • Provide in-class support to students with additional learning needs.
  • Work closely with teachers to deliver engaging and inclusive lessons.
  • Deliver targeted interventions to support pupil progress.
  • Support students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
  • Assist with implementing individual learning and support plans.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, confidence, and independence.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents where appropriate.
  • Contribute to a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting.
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEN is desirable but not essential.
  • Patient, compassionate, and able to build strong relationships.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to supporting learning.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is desirable (or willingness to obtain one).
