KS1 Teaching Assistant – Phonics Specialist | Join a Warm, Supportive School Community - in Southampton from January!

We are currently seeking a confident, enthusiastic Teaching Assistant with strong KS1 experience—particularly in phonics—to join one of our welcoming local primary schools. This full-time opportunity is perfect for someone who brings energy, positivity and a hands-on approach to supporting early learning.

The school is looking for a bubbly, efficient KS1 TA who can help pupils build solid foundations in reading, writing and early literacy. If you have experience in KS1 classrooms, phonics interventions, or transferable skills that would support young learners, we would love to hear from you.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a solid understanding of phonics and early literacy development

  • Can build warm, encouraging relationships with young children

  • Brings enthusiasm, patience and a proactive work ethic

  • Is confident supporting whole-class learning, small groups and 1:1 sessions

  • Is reliable, organised and ready to be a valued part of the team

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
