Position: L2 Teaching Assistant

Location: Stockport, SK2

Contract Type: Temporary, Full-time

Pay Rate: £85 – 100 per day

One of our partner schools are looking for a L2 Teaching Assistant to offer support across the school until the end of the school year. This school places a strong emphasis on the individual child and encourages children to make the most of each opportunity, to gain the best from their education. You will guide with the pupils to help them develop their skills to sustain life-long learning as well as strong self-belief.

In the classroom you will assist pupils in small groups and offer personalised support depending on the needs of the pupil. A good understanding of SEND and SEMH is necessary for the position.

Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering lessons and activities.
  • Working with individuals or small groups to reinforce learning.
  • Help prepare classroom materials and resources.
  • Individually support pupils with special educational needs or additional needs, following plans.
  • Promote positive behaviour and classroom routines.
  • Assist with assessment, observation, and record‑keeping.
  • Supervise pupils during activities, breaktimes, or school trips.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
  • Uphold and enforce safeguarding policies.

Teaching Assistant Key Requirements:

  • Level 2 or 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent).
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, grade 4/C English and Maths.
  • Experience working with children in an educational setting.
  • A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive approach to behaviour management.
  • Reliability, organisation, and willingness to support a range of pupil needs.
