The Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting classroom teachers in providing the best support possible to students aged 5-25 years old. The school specialises in severe, complex, and moderate learning disabilities, particularly:
- Autism Spectrum Disorder and communication difficulties
- Challenging behaviours
This provision combines a Steiner-inspired curriculum with bespoke academic and vocational programmes, supported by a multi-disciplinary team offering therapies such as speech and language, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, art therapy and music therapy.
Who We Are Looking For
- SEN / Autism based experience in or out of an educational setting
- Able to collaborate with teachers and other support staff
- Understanding of challenging behaviours
- Understanding of positive behaviour support strategies
- Able to de-escalate challenging situations calmly and safely
- Child & Adult DBS, or willingness to obtain one
Working Hours / Benefits
- Full time, part time and flexible availability applicants will be considered for this role

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
