If so, this role is for you! A specialised SEN school in Salisbury is seeking a passionate Teaching Assistant to join their team!
The Role
As a Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) focused Teaching Assistant you will play a key role in providing the best support possible to students aged 11-16 years old. This is an Alternative Provision setting for pupils unable to access mainstream education due to needs and diagnoses of the following:
- Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Anxiety and behavioural challenges
- Communication and social interaction difficulties
- Often pupils have experienced disrupted education and require extensive support
Learning Environment:
- Small, nurturing classes designed for emotional regulation
- Calm spaces for therapeutic interventions
Curriculum:
- Core subjects (English, Maths, Science)
- Personal development and life skills
- Vocational and enrichment activities to build confidence and resilience
Who We Are Looking For
- SEMH experience in or out of an educational setting
- Able to collaborate with teachers and other support staff
- Understanding of challenging behaviours
- Understanding of positive behaviour support strategies
- Able to de-escalate challenging situations calmly and safely
Working Hours / Benefits
- Full Time and Part Time applicants will be considered for this role

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
