Teaching Assistant – SEMH School
Location: The Wirral
Position: Full-time
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join a supportive SEMH school in The Wirral. This full-time role is ideal for someone passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
The successful candidate will work closely with students, providing essential support to help them overcome barriers to learning. They will need to be nurturing, understanding, and resilient, with the ability to instil clear boundaries and build trusting relationships that encourage students to engage in their education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and group support to students with SEMH needs.
- Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging trust and motivation.
- Support the teacher in managing challenging behaviour effectively.
- Create a safe and supportive environment for learning and personal growth.
Essential Requirements:
- Experience working with children with special educational needs and those who have experienced trauma.
- Ability to manage extremely challenging behaviour with confidence and care.
- A nurturing, understanding, and resilient approach to supporting students.
- Passion for helping students achieve their potential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
