Job Advertisement: 1:1 Teaching Assistant (SEMH Provision)

Contract: Full-time
An established SEMH alternative provision in Liverpool is looking for a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join its supportive team. This specialist setting provides a safe and nurturing environment for students with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs), helping them feel secure, thrive, and achieve their full potential.
About the Role
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with individual students, delivering tailored support to help them overcome challenges and reach their personal and academic goals. This role is ideal for someone who can build strong, trusting relationships and demonstrate patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for education.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personalised support to students with EHCPs, encouraging engagement and skill development.
- Promote a positive and nurturing environment, reinforcing the provision’s strong behaviour management strategies.
- Collaborate with teaching staff and external professionals to implement effective, individualised learning plans.
- Track and record student progress, adapting support as needed to ensure success.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children or young people, ideally within an SEMH or similar educational setting.
- A proactive, flexible, and understanding approach to meeting individual needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
