Autism Specialist TA - L17
Location: Aigburth area
Role: Teaching assistant specialising in Autism
Pay: GBP65 – 75 per day (paid on a weekly basis)

Children with mental health needs thrive from having exceptional hard working staff with an in-depth and open understanding of mental health support. We are currently looking for people with knowledge of handling children who struggle with Autism. Teaching assistants will work 1:1 and in small groups delivering behaviour and education support programmes.
The school we are working for are looking for Teaching assistants or those with Autism based experience who are:
- Open in schools with young people who have been unable to learn in mainstream schools due to them struggling to regulate their emotions and/or sticking to the rigid structure of mainstream schooling.
- Dedicated and consistent as building and maintaining positive relationships is vital.
- An understanding approach to those who suffer from Autism.
- A warm and friendly approach.
The mainstream primary school in Runcorn, Wa7, are seeking a full time 1-1 SEN Teaching Assistant to work 1-1 with a pupil in year 2 with ASD and communication difficulties.
The pupil shows signs of autism and speech and language communication needs. The role would entail supporting their learning during class times, in 1-1 sessions and providing emotional and behavioural support throughout the school day.
This is an Ofsted graded 'Good' primary school.The School fosters a family atmosphere within the school and encourages the children to develop a caring attitude towards others. They ensure that there is an environment and a curriculum where children's minds are challenged, engaged and excited. Teachers are fully committed to improving their teaching skills. They are keen to support colleagues in improving their practice through sharing ideas and providing coaching.

Essential criteria: Youth work or school behaviour mentoring background or experience working with children/young people with Autism or in education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
