Are you a passionate Early Years practitioner looking for a new role? A warm and welcoming primary school in Warrington is seeking a Reception Teaching Assistant with strong phonics experience to join their team immediately. This is a fantastic opportunity to support young learners at a crucial stage in their development.
About the Role
You will work closely with the Class Teacher to deliver engaging EYFS learning and targeted phonics support (RWI or similar). The role involves small‑group phonics delivery, classroom support, helping maintain routines, and contributing to a nurturing, play‑based environment. The role is within a close-knit Primary School in WA3 so candidates should live nearby or be happy to commute to this area.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and support high‑quality phonics sessions
- Assist with Reception classroom learning and activities
- Encourage independence, communication and early reading skills
- Support behaviour, routines and pastoral needs
- Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff
- Maintain strong safeguarding practice
Requirements
- Experience supporting EYFS pupils
- Strong phonics knowledge (RWI, Letters and Sounds, etc.)
- Enthusiastic, patient and reliable
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
- References covering the last 24 months

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
