Teaching Assistant

Location: Clitheroe, Lancashire
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Contract Type: Full-Time / Part-Time, Term Time Only
Start Date: September 2026

Are you passionate about supporting children in their learning journey? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in the Clitheroe area for the new academic year.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and wants to make a positive impact within a supportive educational environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
  • Work with individual pupils and small groups to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Assist with classroom preparation and organisation.
  • Provide support for pupils with varying learning needs and abilities.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and promote a safe, inclusive learning environment.
  • Help monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Experience working with children in a school, nursery or educational setting.
  • A positive, patient and nurturing approach.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to build strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Relevant Teaching Assistant qualifications are desirable but not essential.

Requirements

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • References covering the last two years.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
