Job Advert: SEN Teaching Assistant

Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs (SEN)? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant school in Newbury. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a nurturing environment, making a real difference in the lives of students with a range of learning and developmental needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one and small group support for students with SEN
• Support students in the classroom to ensure they can fully participate in learning activities
• Help students develop their social, emotional, and communication skills
• Work closely with class teachers and SENCO to monitor progress and adapt teaching methods
• Assist with personal care and mobility needs when required
• Foster an inclusive and positive learning environment for all students

Key Requirements:

• Previous experience working with children with special educational needs is desirable
• A caring and empathetic approach to supporting students
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• A proactive, patient, and flexible attitude
• A commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive classroom environment
• Access to car is desirable
• Relevant qualifications in education or SEN (e.g. Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) would be an advantage

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
