Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a Maths intervention teaching assistant for a secondary school in Cardiff. This post will be staring on February 1st in the CF23 area, this role will include a daily rate of GBP60 – 75 dependant on experience.

The school are looking for a passionate teaching assistant who can work on a full-time basis and can get to the CF23 area. You will be required to work with small groups of pupils carrying out group activities as well as on a 1:1 basis assisting with the additional work set by the Maths department. Due to COVID-19 the school are now changing their focus on to catch up lessons for all students. After a long time in the lockdown period all students have missed out on important educational development as well as looking after the older students who are now facing exam season.

The school have a sectioned department that works closely with catch up pupils, this is where you will be based primarily. This department is for all students who are undertaking extra tuition and who require additional support. The school prides themselves on the support and guidance given by this department and this is reflective in the results that they are showing. They have multiple different learning areas within including an ICT suite, reading room and interactive whiteboards in every classroom. This department helps develop the pupil’s confidence in their ability and help catch up on the work missed due to COVID-19.

The ideal Teaching Assistant –

  • Will be able to work fulltime
  • Be comfortable with 1:1 support
  • Have an Maths/ Numeracy background
  • Be able to travel to the CF23 area
  • Experience with additional tuition

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
