Do you want to make a difference to lives of children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties?
Teaching Personnel are currently working alongside mainstream secondary schools in the Stockport area to recruit passionate Teaching Assistants to work with children and young people with challenging behaviour due to SEMH and other barriers to learning. These roles are flexible and can cater for candidates wanting to work on either a full or part time basis. These roles are to start from September.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will be working closely with students in Key Stages 3 and 4, either in small groups or on a one to one basis, supporting them and helping them access mainstream education.
The ideal candidate must have:
- Some experience working with children and young people who display challenging behaviour
- A DBS on the Update service/willingness to get one
- High levels of resilience and organisation
- Experience of de-escalation training would be advantageous
- The school would also consider candidates from youth work backgrounds, or similar roles
This role demands motivation, passion, patience and the ability to emotionally support children who are from vulnerable backgrounds and situations. The successful candidate may also benefit from a Team-Teach qualification, which can be offered by Teaching Personnel should you not already be trained.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
