Teaching Assistant – Full Time, Temporary
York
£90–£120 per day (depending on experience)
Full-time, term-time only | Temporary position
✨ We’re looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in York. This is a full-time, term-time only role, starting as soon as possible. It’s a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and wants to play a key role in supporting their learning and development.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll provide vital classroom support and help pupils get the most out of their education. Your responsibilities will include:
Providing 1:1 and small group support across a range of subjects
Helping teachers prepare lessons and learning materials
Encouraging positive behaviour, confidence, and engagement in class
Supporting pupils of varying abilities to reach their potential
Working collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other staff to create a supportive learning environment
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
✅ Passionate about working with children and supporting their learning
Patient, empathetic, and reliable
️ A confident communicator and strong team player
Enthusiastic and proactive, with a flexible attitude to classroom life
Previous school or childcare experience is desirable, but not essential — the right attitude and commitment to helping children succeed are what matter most.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
