Job description

The Opportunity
We are seeking a caring and committed Teaching Assistant to join a highly supportive specialist school in Yeovil.

This is a full-time, permanent role working with pupils aged 4–16 who have a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASD), communication difficulties, complex learning needs, and physical disabilities.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday - 8.30am to 3.45pm

Pay Rate - £14.50 per hour

The Role

  • Support pupils across the school with tailored learning and care needs
  • Assist with communication, engagement, and emotional regulation
  • Work closely with teachers and therapists to deliver personalised support
  • Help create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
  • Support pupils with daily routines and independence skills

 

Requirements

  • Previous childcare or education experience is desirable
  • Experience supporting children with SEN is highly advantageous
  • Patient, adaptable, and compassionate approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
