Teaching Assistant
Job description
An exciting opportunity has become available for a caring and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a specialist educational provision in Weymouth on a part-time basis, starting as soon as possible.
This position is ideal for somebody passionate about supporting young people who benefit from additional guidance within the classroom.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting teaching staff with engaging classroom activities
- Providing one-to-one and small-group support
- Encouraging pupil participation and confidence
- Assisting learners to remain focused and motivated
- Supporting behaviour strategies and emotional regulation
- Helping students manage transitions throughout the day
- Promoting positive peer interactions
About the Provision
The provision supports children and young people with a range of special educational needs and additional barriers to learning.

Skills and Experience
The successful applicant will need strong communication skills, patience, emotional resilience, and the ability to adapt to the varying needs of pupils throughout the day.
Previous experience in education, childcare, youth work, mentoring, residential care, sports coaching, or support work would be beneficial, although not essential.
Most importantly, the setting is looking for someone with a genuine passion for helping young people succeed.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
