Teaching Assistant – Secondary School
Location: Weymouth, Dorset
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time, Long-term
Pay: Competitive, dependent on experience
Teaching Personnel are currently looking for a Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming secondary school in Weymouth from September 2026.
This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people and wants to make a genuine difference in the classroom. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and pupils, helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment.
The Role:
-
Supporting students across KS3 and KS4
-
Providing classroom and one-to-one support where required
-
Helping pupils stay focused and engaged with their learning
-
Working alongside teachers to support lesson delivery
-
Assisting with the development of students' confidence and independence
-
Supporting pupils with a range of learning needs
-
Full-time, long-term position starting in September
The Ideal Candidate:
-
Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable
-
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
-
Patient, approachable and supportive
-
Confident working with students of different abilities
-
Able to build positive relationships with pupils
-
Reliable and committed to helping students achieve their potential
