Teaching Assistant – Full Time (Immediate Start)

Role Overview

We are seeking a committed Teaching Assistant to support SEN students aged 11 to 18 within a supportive and forward-thinking educational setting in Wareham.

This is a full-time position with an immediate start, ideal for someone passionate about supporting young people as they progress through their education.

 

Working hours: 10am to 3pm

Hourly rate: £13.75 per hour

Staff work closely together, supported by excellent leadership and clear structures, to help learners build confidence, independence and essential life skills.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support

  • Assist with learning activities and engagement

  • Support positive behaviour and daily routines

  • Build strong, respectful relationships with students and staff

  • Encourage confidence, motivation and progress

 

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 months childcare experience, particularly supporting children or young people with SEN needs

  • A patient, empathetic and resilient approach

  • Ability to commit to a full-time role

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
