Teaching Assistant – Totton

September Start (or earlier for the right candidate)

Full-Time | 8:45am – 3:15pm
£14.25 per hour | Through Teaching Personnel

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistants to join a specialist SEN setting this September.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with a range of additional needs, including physical disabilities, autism, complex learning needs, and medical needs, within a highly nurturing and supportive environment. With small class sizes and strong pastoral support, you will play a vital role in helping students build confidence, access learning, and achieve positive outcomes.

The Role

  • Support students with a range of SEN needs, including autism, physical disabilities, complex learning difficulties, and medical needs
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual learning and care plans
  • Assist with classroom learning activities and daily routines
  • Promote positive behaviour, communication, and emotional wellbeing
  • Support students with mobility, personal care, and medical requirements where needed
  • Work closely with Teachers, Therapists, and Pastoral staff to provide consistent and effective support

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience working with children or young people is essential
  • Experience supporting SEN needs such as autism, physical disabilities, or complex learning needs is highly desirable
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach
  • Confidence working within a classroom or specialist setting
  • A caring and proactive attitude with a genuine passion for supporting young people

This is a full-time role, inimum 4 days, and consistency is key in supporting students to thrive both academically and personally.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
