A welcoming and inclusive primary school in the Stockport area is seeking a committed Teaching Assistant to join its supportive team on a long-term or permanent basis. This role would suit someone who is enthusiastic about supporting pupils across the primary age range and has experience working with children who require additional support. You will play a key role in helping pupils access learning, build confidence, and achieve positive outcomes both academically and socially.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support teaching and learning across the primary school.
- Provide high-quality 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs.
- Assist small groups of children with targeted interventions and classroom activities.
- Help pupils overcome barriers to learning and encourage positive engagement.
- Work collaboratively with class teachers and SEN staff to implement support strategies.
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
- Support pupils' social, emotional, and academic development.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will:
- Have previous experience working with children in a school or educational setting.
- Be confident supporting pupils with additional needs, including SEN.
- Be patient, caring, and adaptable in their approach.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
- Have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Be committed to helping every child succeed and reach their full potential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
