Job description

Learning Support Assistant – Full Time (After Easter to Summer Term)
Location: Southampton

Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a welcoming infant school in Southampton to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant for a full-time role starting after the Easter break and continuing through to the end of the summer term.

The Role:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils across the early years and Key Stage 1 age range. You will work closely with class teachers and the SEN team to provide tailored support, both within the classroom and in small group or one-to-one settings. The role will involve supporting children with a range of additional needs, helping to create a positive, engaging, and structured learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting pupils with their academic, social, and emotional development

  • Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom management

  • Providing targeted support for children with special educational needs

  • Promoting an inclusive and supportive learning environment

  • Monitoring and recording pupil progress where required

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have experience working with children, ideally within a school setting

  • Demonstrate a patient, caring, and adaptable approach

  • Have a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs

  • Be a strong team player with excellent communication skills

  • Be committed to making a positive impact in the classroom

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
