Teaching Assistant – Supply Opportunities Across Specialist Provisions

Sherborne Area | Part-Time Flexible Work | September 2026 Start | £14.25 Per Hour

Make a Difference Across Multiple Educational Settings

Teaching Personnel is recruiting experienced Teaching Assistants to support a range of SEN and SEMH provisions throughout the Sherborne area on a flexible supply basis.

These opportunities are designed for individuals who enjoy working within specialist education environments and are looking for flexible work that fits around other commitments. With several provisions requiring regular cover, successful applicants will have access to a variety of placements and the opportunity to develop experience across different settings.

We are specifically looking for professionals who can quickly adapt, build positive relationships and contribute effectively from their first day in each placement.

 

Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils with additional learning requirements.
  • Assisting with classroom activities and lesson delivery.
  • Encouraging participation and engagement.
  • Providing pastoral and emotional support.
  • Supporting behaviour management strategies.
  • Promoting inclusion and independence.
  • Working alongside teachers and support staff.
  • Maintaining safeguarding and professional standards.

 

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience within SEN, SEMH or specialist educational settings.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach.
  • Confidence supporting learners with varying needs.
  • Patience, resilience and professionalism.
  • The ability to work effectively across different provisions.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
