Job description

We are looking for a dedicated, resilient, and motivated individual to join our specialist education provision in Salisbury, supporting children and young people with complex needs.

This role is well suited to someone with strong behaviour management skills who can provide consistency, structure, and calm support within a nurturing learning environment. You will work closely with pupils who may present with challenging behaviour, helping them develop positive coping strategies and engage meaningfully in education.

The Role

  • Supporting pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs
  • Managing and responding to challenging behaviour using positive and restorative approaches
  • Implementing individual behaviour support plans and de-escalation strategies
  • Establishing clear routines, boundaries, and expectations
  • Working collaboratively with teachers and specialist staff to support pupil progress

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience of working with challenging behaviour
  • A calm, patient, and consistent approach under pressure
  • Confidence in behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
