Job description

Do you have a passion for working with children? Would you like to put your skills into practice within a classroom environment?

If so then I would like to hear from you!

I am currently working with two primary schools based in the Rumney area of Cardiff, who are both looking for regular Teaching Assistant cover to start ASAP. They often require just a few days a week between both school which can be completely flexible, but they may also need longer term full time cover if that is what you are looking for too as there is plenty of opportunity here for outstanding educators! Both schools cover the same catchment area, and so someone with local knowledge of the CF3 area would be advantageous. Both schools are looking to create:

-ambitious and capable learners ready to learn throughout their lives

-enterprising creative contributors ready to play a full part in life and work

-ethical, informed citizens of Wales and the world

-healthy, confident individuals, ready to lead fulfilling lives as valued members of society.

The school is looking for enthusiastic and committed educators who are passionate about supporting children’s learning and development. They value Teaching Assistants who are proactive & hands-on, and eager to engage fully in classroom life and school activities, not just stand at the back of a classroom. As over 25% of this schools pupils have been statemented with Additional Learning Needs (ALN), experience in working with ALN would be hugely favoured. These pupils require calmness, patience and creative engagement not just an authoritative figure!

A positive attitude, an open-minded approach, and the ability to create a fun and engaging environment are key qualities this school look for. As a large and collaborative setting, they particularly value team players with strong communication skills, ensuring effective coordination across classes and departments to deliver the very best learning experience for every child.

If you have 3+ months’ experience working with children and are ready to start a full-time role (Mon–Fri, 8:30–15:30), then please do get in touch.

Click APPLY NOW to send your up-to-date CV. Successful applicants will receive a call from Emma Thomas to discuss next steps and begin the quick registration process (usually completed within a week, DBS and EWC dependent).

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with DfE statutory guidance ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ this may also include an online search as part of our due diligence on shortlisted applicants.
We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
