Teaching Assistant – Peterborough

Full-time and Part-time Positions Available
Pay: £95–£120 per day

We are currently seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support our partner primary schools across Cambridgeshire. This role offers excellent flexibility, with opportunities for day-to-day supply, long-term placements, and temporary-to-permanent positions within a range of primary school settings.

About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective learning activities.

• Prepare the classroom for lessons, including setting up and organising resources.

• Work with individual pupils and small groups to provide targeted learning support.

• Support pupils with reading, writing, Maths and other areas of the curriculum.

• Help pupils remain engaged, motivated and confident in their learning.

• Provide additional support to pupils with varying learning needs, including SEND where required.

• Promote positive behaviour and help maintain a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.

• Supervise pupils during break and lunchtime where required.

• Support the physical, intellectual, emotional and social development of pupils.

• Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff and other professionals.

• Participate in relevant training and CPD opportunities to support your professional development.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• A genuine passion for supporting children and helping them achieve their potential.

• A positive, patient and proactive approach to working with pupils.

• The ability to adapt to different schools, year groups and classroom environments.

• Previous experience working with children or within an educational setting is desirable but not essential.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• Willingness to complete all required safeguarding and compliance checks.

• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
