Teaching Assistant in Penarth
Job description
We are looking to appoint a committed Teaching Assistant to support teaching and learning across the school. This full-time role involves working with pupils individually and in small groups, helping to promote progress, confidence, and positive engagement within the classroom.
Key Responsibilities

Support pupils’ learning across the classroom, individually and in small groups
-
Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom organisation
-
Provide support for children with additional learning or behavioural needs
-
Help maintain a safe, calm, and engaging learning environment
-
Encourage positive behaviour, confidence, and independence
-
Support play-based and creative learning activities, particularly in EYFS and KS1
-
Supervise pupils during lessons, activities, and break times
The Ideal Candidate

Experience working with children in a primary school or similar setting
-
A patient, nurturing, and positive approach
-
Strong communication and teamwork skills
-
Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
-
Good understanding of safeguarding and child welfare
-
Reliable, adaptable, and committed to supporting children’s development

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
