Job description

We are looking to appoint a committed Teaching Assistant to support teaching and learning across the school. This full-time role involves working with pupils individually and in small groups, helping to promote progress, confidence, and positive engagement within the classroom.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils’ learning across the classroom, individually and in small groups

  • Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom organisation

  • Provide support for children with additional learning or behavioural needs

  • Help maintain a safe, calm, and engaging learning environment

  • Encourage positive behaviour, confidence, and independence

  • Support play-based and creative learning activities, particularly in EYFS and KS1

  • Supervise pupils during lessons, activities, and break times

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience working with children in a primary school or similar setting

  • A patient, nurturing, and positive approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff

  • Good understanding of safeguarding and child welfare

  • Reliable, adaptable, and committed to supporting children’s development

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
