A school in Manchester is looking for a full-time teaching assistant to join their experienced team of staff. Students within the school are out of mainstream schooling due to mental health needs such as depression or anxiety which has meant that mainstream classes are unsuitable for them to learn in. Students are still currently working at a normal level with different topics, so you will need to be confident in helping with work at a GCSE level.
Within this role, you will provide in class support to students to ensure they are focused and progressing with their learning. You will also work with students in crisis who need a calm and friendly presence to ensure that they are able to continue learning through the school day.
As a teaching assistant you should:
- Have previous experience supporting secondary aged children.
- Have previous experience with young people with SEMH needs.
- Be available full-time.
- Have a calm personality and create a safe learning environment for students.
- Hold an enhanced DBS on the update service (this can be applied for through Teaching Personnel if needed)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
