Experienced Teaching Assistant
Secondary Schools | Mainstream & SEMH Settings Teaching Personnel

Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistants to work across a range of secondary schools, including both mainstream and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) provisions. These rewarding roles offer the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people by providing tailored academic, behavioural and emotional support.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support students aged 11-16 within classroom settings
- Provide one-to-one and small group interventions
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and learning activities
- Promote positive behaviour and help students overcome barriers to learning
- Support students with additional learning, social, emotional or behavioural needs
- Build positive and professional relationships with students, staff and parents where appropriate
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for candidates who:
- Have previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or in a similar educational support role
- Have experience working with secondary-aged students
- Have experience supporting students with additional needs, including SEMH, ASD, ADHD or behavioural challenges (desirable)
- Are patient, resilient and able to build positive relationships with young people
- Possess strong communication and teamwork skills
- Are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Requirements
- Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the DBS Update Service (essential)
- Right to work in the UK
- References covering the past two years
- Relevant education or childcare qualifications are desirable but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
