About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant in Darwen to support pupils within a mainstream primary school. This role is available immediately and offers a temp‑to‑perm pathway for the right candidate.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting learning, behaviour, and pupil wellbeing, working alongside experienced teaching staff to deliver high‑quality education.

Key Responsibilities

Supporting learning in whole‑class, group, and 1:1 settings
Assisting pupils with academic and social development
Helping to maintain a safe and structured classroom environment
Working collaboratively with teachers and school staff
Supporting pupils with additional learning needs where required

Requirements

Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a school environment
A positive, nurturing, and flexible approach
Strong understanding of primary education
Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
