Teaching Assistant Opportunities – Swansea & Carmarthenshire

£14.25 per hour | Monday to Friday | 8:30am – 3:30pm | No Weekends!

Teaching Personnel is currently seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistants to support schools across Swansea and Carmarthenshire. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about education and making a positive impact on young people's lives.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and school staff to support pupils in the classroom, helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting pupils with their learning and development
  • Working with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning objectives
  • Assisting the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom management
  • Encouraging pupil engagement, confidence, and independence
  • Supporting pupils with additional learning needs where required
  • Helping to maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment

Working Hours & Pay

£14.25 per hour

Monday – Friday

8:30am – 3:30pm

NO WEEKENDS

Desired Qualifications & Experience

Applicants may possess one or more of the following:

  • Level 2 or Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification
  • CACHE, NCFE, or equivalent Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Degree in Education, Childhood Studies, Psychology, or a related subject
  • Previous experience working with children or young people in educational, childcare, sports coaching, youth work, or care settings
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting children's education and wellbeing

Essential Requirements

  • Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the DBS Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) or willing to register before starting work
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Ability to provide suitable references

Desirable Requirements

  • Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle (desirable but not essential)
  • Previous classroom experience
  • Experience supporting pupils with additional learning needs (ALN)
