Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work in a friendly primary school located in the EX32 area. This full-time role offers the opportunity to progress into a permanent position for the right candidate.

The EX32 postcode area covers Barnstaple, Landkey, Swimbridge, and Goodleigh, making it a great opportunity for candidates living in or near these locations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide personalised support to pupils with SEN, ensuring their specific learning needs are met
• Assist the class teacher in creating a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment
• Work collaboratively with the SENCO and staff to implement individual education plans (IEPs)
• Support pupils’ social and emotional development through one-to-one and small group interventions
• Monitor and report on student progress, helping them reach their potential

What We're Looking For:

• Experience as a teaching assistant or in a similar role is desirable, but not essential
• A genuine interest in supporting children with SEN and helping them succeed
• Patience, empathy, and a supportive approach
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of children
