Job description

We are currently working with a welcoming mainstream secondary school in the B30 area who are looking to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time, temporary basis.

This role will involve supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to help pupils access the curriculum, build confidence, and stay engaged in lessons.

The school has a supportive staff team and a strong focus on inclusion, making it a great environment for someone who is passionate about helping young people reach their potential.

The role will include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support for students with additional needs

  • Assisting the teacher in delivering lessons and classroom activities

  • Supporting pupils with their academic progress and emotional wellbeing

  • Helping to manage behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has previous experience working with children or young people (school experience is desirable)

  • Is patient, reliable and able to build positive relationships with students

  • Has an interest in supporting pupils with SEN

  • Can work well as part of a team and take initiative when needed

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
