We are searching for a compassionate and adaptable Teaching Assistant to become part of a dedicated PRU team supporting secondary-aged learners with social, emotional and behavioural needs.
This provision supports pupils who may have experienced disruption in mainstream education and now benefit from a smaller, more nurturing setting where relationships, consistency and encouragement are central to progress.
Learners can present with more outward behavioural communication styles, so the successful applicant will need confidence, resilience and a genuine desire to make a meaningful impact.
You will work closely alongside experienced teachers and pastoral staff to create a positive atmosphere where pupils feel respected, supported and motivated to re-engage with education.

The ideal candidate will be patient, emotionally intelligent and able to maintain clear boundaries while remaining approachable and supportive.
Previous experience working with SEMH needs, behaviour support or alternative provisions would be valuable, although personality, commitment and attitude are equally important.
Key Responsibilities
• Supporting pupils during lessons to encourage participation and engagement
• Building trusting relationships that help learners feel secure and valued
• Assisting with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
• Encouraging progress in Maths, English and wider curriculum subjects
• Helping pupils develop confidence, resilience and communication skills
• Working collaboratively with teaching staff and external professionals
• Promoting a calm and structured learning environment • Supporting educational activities, interventions and enrichment opportunities

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
