Job description

Experienced SEN Teaching Assistant

Primary School | Blackpool | September 2026 Start (or sooner if availability allows)

Teaching Personnel are working closely with a welcoming Primary School in Blackpool who are seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September, or earlier this side of the summer holidays for the right candidate.

This rewarding role will involve supporting pupils with additional needs, with a particular focus on Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). You will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to provide tailored, consistent support that enables pupils to thrive both academically and emotionally.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience supporting children with ASC and additional needs
  • A calm, patient and nurturing approach
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
  • The ability to adapt support strategies to meet individual needs

  • Support work

  • Youth work
  • Social care

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
